Mini Meditations - WHY daven?

BH

I ask myself, why am I davenning now? 
Cuz I’m a Jew 
Cuz it’s a mitzvah 
A mitzvah means Hashem’s will
It’s Hashem’s will that I daven to Him
Why?
Cuz He wants me to connect with Him
Why?
Cuz He wants a relationship with me.
Seriously?
Hashem wants a relationship with me
He cares that much to have my attention?
He cares that much what I think about Him?
My love means so much to Him?
My praise means so much to Him?
My thanks means so much to Him?
My faith and trust in Him that He is the only one in control of everything and the only source of blessing, means that much to Him
Apparently YES
How flattered should I be feeling 
How honored should I be feeling 
This is why He created me 
Because He wants to be in a relationship with me 
And He wants me to choose to be in a relationship with Him
Now we are still dating,
Soon we will be married 
Now is the time to prepare for that intimacy by getting to know Him better
By getting closer 
By just talking 
So yes, I’ll take 10 minutes to talk to Gd 
It’s not a waste of my time 
It’s the purpose of my soul’s descent into the world 
It’s the purpose of the creation of all the worlds in the first place 
That Hashem dwell within me
That I welcome Him into my life

For This Daughter I Prayed

6 years ago today, I was blessed to become a Mommy for the first time, to my precious daughter, Nechamale. Although I have shared my journey to motherhood several times before, and although it is deeply personal, I decided it's finally time for me to put it on paper. Shortly after our wedding, (like many women in our community,)  I was already dreaming of becoming pregnant and welcoming a baby as soon as possible. I expected it to happen quickly and naturally, as it BH does for most woman, but as month after month passed by without any news, I started to feel very anxious.  Any doctor I shared my concern with said to wait at least one full year before worrying, which didn't really feel possible... But when we hit that one year mark, my fear and emptiness reached a whole new level.  That second year of waiting was so painful for me, and I was extremely impatient. Everyone's Rebbe

On 12 Tammuz this past summer, I was checking out in a store in Boro Park, when the sales lady asked me, "did you come in for gimmel Tammuz?" I told her that I came for a few things - (my brother in law just got married BH,) but of course for that too. But I sensed she was trying to show me that she too knows the Rebbe and chabad.. So I asked her, "do you go to the ohel?" "Of course!" She said. "today and tomorrow are actually really good days to go to the ohel, 12/13 Tammuz.." I mentioned. "it's always a good time to go," she answered. "I usually go on Thursdays cuz it's my day off." I thought she must have more to say, so I asked, "Did you have any special encounters?" Thank you Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka

I just discovered something amazing, and I want to share it as gratitude to our Rebbetzin... even though it’s a bit personal. We know that parents receive special Divine Intuition to know exactly which name to give to which child, but of course, not always do we see it or understand it right away. For example, when Hashem blessed us with our precious princess 3 years ago, on the 21st of the Hebrew month of Teves, we named her Chaya Mushka simply because it seemed the most “logical” name to give her.  We didn’t see that Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka had any special connection to the date that our daughter was born. (It was a month and a day before the anniversary of the Rebbetzin’s passing, and over 2 months before her birthday, while it was only 1 week before Rebbetzin Chana’s birthday, which was also a name on our dream list.)
